Thinking about upgrading from my 2019 build. It's currently in a Cooler Master MC500, build as follows:

Asus TUF X570 plus non wifi
AMD Ryzen 7 3800x 8 cores @ 3.9ghz, base air cooler
32 gigs g-skills 3600mhz
RTX 4080 (ran a GTX 980ti from 2016 to then)
2 Western digital Blue SSD's (500G for Windows and 2 TB for the rest)
M.2 WD Black for games (Steam)
750 watts EVGA P2 platinum
Case: Cooler Master MasterCase MC500 mid-tower USB 2.0 and 3.0

The new 2024 build would go in that case( MC500) carrying over the 4080 and M.2, and the 2019 parts would go in my Cooler Master Storm that I got in 2012 but was first released in 2009-2010, witht the GTX 980ti. I would obviously only have USB 2.0 working due to the case's limitation, I'd use that computer mainly for everyday use (Youtube, Facebook etc...) and not for gaming, at least not recent games. My main concern is the connection from the case to the motherboard, are parts to new for that old case because, apart from the usb 2.0 connection being the biggest downgrade, I don't see a problem doing that physical switch.
