Hello guys. I've tried searching the forum for this specific comparison but haven't pulled much info. Does anybody know what's the major difference between the T and the M Series. It seems like the T series is being branded with the Atom name and the M Series with the Pentium/Celeron name. Two examples of hardware using each: Asus Transformer Book T100 (Atom Baytrail T Series) & HP Pavilion X2 (Pentium Baytrail M Series).

I've read somewhere that the T Series is more for the enthusiast (relatively speaking of course) and is more efficient and the M is for other users. The question is really -- battery duration aside-- can i get same amount of performance out of the M series as the T series. In other words, in terms of performance, which laptop would be better (T100 or the Pavilion X2)

Here's a comparison chart between the two:

HEY there I have done extensive research on this thing but my plan is to use the pavilion x2 for lite gaming like starwars the old republic and all in which I found out they both use what I like to call HD+IVYBASE which means they are better than HD graphics and based on ivy ,now you are thinking how is this related to me ?well it is both use the same graphics but the pavilionX2 has more ram which gives it a upper hand in the graphics as they share memory while the t100 only has 2gb ram which will be mainly used by the os about 300mb and another 1400 mb for graphics so you will experience lag on the t100 but the pavilion will not lag and will give you the performance you need along with portability and more !.

PS the hp pavilion has a more powerfull processor !
