Build Advice 2023 PC Upgrade Build

I am currently thinking of buying a new PC. I plan on playing COD, Warzone, Overwatch and Fortnite on it. I also plan on using it for personal work like school or other work where I can multitask easily with a bunch of different tabs open. I also make music from time to time using FL Studio, so I would likely use it for that too. I went to my local Microcenter to get some advice on PC parts. The associate was very helpful and gave me a list of components here: Parts List

I am happy with the parts that were picked, and it fits pretty well within my budget, but I just wanted to post it here to see if anyone else had any other suggestions to either reduce cost or improve overall performance.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

That build looks pretty solid to me, although you don't really need Windows 10 Pro OEM. I would suggest a retail Windows 10 Home key, as you can tie this to a Microsoft account and bring it with you on the next build. It'll cost about the same.

Thank you. So you're suggesting that I stick with Windows 10 as opposed to upgrading to Windows 11?

I think I had a dyslexic moment. If you were going to get Windows 11, that's fine. It was more of a suggestion to get the retail Home version than the OEM Pro version.

The other thing to consider, maybe get a 512gb or 1tb ssd as a boot drive and keep the 2tb as secondary for game storage etc. In my opinion makes it easier if I ever need to reinstall windows. Then when I tell steam to install games again I can just point it to the location on the drive I didn’t wipe and it usually finds them and fixes things up.

For the games you have mentioned, it is over specced. You can do the same with a much cheaper computer...

That PC is extremely over specced. I would get the 7700x, mothrboard, and 32gb bundle for 499.99 instead to save 100 dollars. I would built the rest of it like this. That AIO is way over priced, and same with that 2tb SSD.

There is no such thing as over-specced. Pay more now, to avoid paying even more later. Some of their prices, in that list, also are actually cheaper at Microcenter.

There is such a thing when a specific goal or task is in mind to be completed, read the OPs requirements. Spending 10k on an emulator would be what? A waste...
