2030 mb instead of 2048mb

it kind of strange but my computer in windows vista shows memory as 2030 mb instead of 2048mb. i have pentium D 930 with intel 965wh MB and 1GBx2 kingston memory and evga 8800 gts 320. in bios it show's as 2048 but windows and some other programs show it as 2030 mb. any idea any one.

That's a good question... I don't think this is the right answer...but it kinda makes sense to me.

What if it's reserved address space (where memory addresses are stored in cache)? Would the OS or BIOS do that I wonder?

I know if you've got integrated graphics, the BIOS does reserve memory for graphics.

EDIT: Again, I'm NOT saying I have the answer. :) The 'lost' memory probably won't ever affect your system performance anyway.
