Hi All

So my new build is more or less sorted but just wondering thoughts on whether the 2070 super is worth the extra £110 or so (I’m in the U.K.) or not.

Build -

Win 10 Home 64 bit - To Purchase
Case - Coolermaster 500 - Purchased
Motherboard - Gigabyte Aorus Pro - To purchase
Ram - Corsair Vengeance LPX - 16GB, 3200Mhz - Purchased
M2 Storage - SAMSUNG 970 pro, 1TB - Purchased
CPU - Either a i7 9700k or i5 9600k - To Purchase
CPU cooler - Unsure but £100 budget for enable OC l, prefer air cooling
GPU - Heart set on either 2060 s or 2070 s
PSU - Seasonic 650w modular

The System will only be used for gaming, mainly PUBG, BF, the new COD possibly and most FPS games.

Any advise on the build and cards is welcomed as I’m still using the PC I built back in 2012 / 13 so I’m out of touch really.

Cheers

I'd get the 2070 Super if you are getting a 1440p monitor with G-sync. If at 1080p then, not so much needed for those games.

As for CPU, definitely get the i7-9700k. Top fps at that level. i5 is decent but yeah, I'd spend the extra since you are on a higher end budget.

Nice one, yeah the i7 is only around £120 or so more so figured it’s worth it, I’ll OC it too so should last a while.

I know the new CPUs are due out within the next few months but I don’t really want to wait.

I’m assuming the rest of the parts are decent enough ?

Yeah, I really like the 9700k. I may get one myself. But I'm trying to hold off until next year before any more purchases.

As for your other parts, they are solid. If you will get 1440p soon then get the 2070 Super. The MSI Trio is best one...

I guess you should pick 2070 super
since your specs are worth to get higher performance on GPU, and also 2070 super is better than 2080 if you take customize from msi/asus/aorus

Cheers for the feedback, I’ve gone with a i59600k and 2060 super, they were running a deal on the Gigabyte 8G Gaming OC Card which worked out at £409 with COD bundled and delivered for free so could turn that down.
