The title says it all. The 2070 is only about $100 more in my country, and i’d like to have my PC futureproof. But im not sure if it’s not too much for 1080p@144Hz, and if i should rather put the money towards something like a keyboard.
Here’s my part list:
PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NWgcXP
Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NWgcXP/by_merchant/

CPU: Intel - Core i5-9600K 3.7 GHz 6-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: SilentiumPC - Fera 3 HE1224 v2 46.5 CFM CPU Cooler
Motherboard: MSI - MAG Z390 TOMAHAWK ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
Memory: Kingston - HyperX Fury Black 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-2133 Memory
Storage: Samsung - 860 Evo 250 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Storage: Seagate - Barracuda 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($59.99 @ Adorama)
Video Card: Gigabyte - GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB AORUS XTREME Video Card
Case: NZXT - H500 (Black/Red) ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: EVGA - BQ 650 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

The 2070 i’m interested would be the GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 2070 GAMING 8G.

Thanks for any responses.

I think it depends on how important it is to turn up settings to near max, the 2070 will allow you to do that for longer. However I'd go 2060 as I am less bothered about max detail and put the money in a 9700k and if possible faster RAM. My issue with the 9600k and High fps is some games are already pushing it close to or even at max usage across all cores. We have seen it before with prior generations of i5 & i7, the extra threads of the i7 make them far better long term.

I'll be actually getting RAM at 2666 but I didn't find the particular model on partpicker. I thought that cores aren't that important for gaming as they are for video editing or other such tasks, so thank you for your tip, I'll look how that fits in my budget.
