Hello. I recently upgraded my CPU,MB,GPU, and RAM. Unfortunately my EVGA 2070 arrived dead, so they replaced it with an upgraded 2070S. Things overall are working great! I am able to get good FPS in all games, and all the benchmarks I have show the machine performing well within or slightly above expectations for the combined components. I have XMP enabled in the BIOS.
However, I have been noticing very small performance hits. It seems randomly the GPU spikes from ~5% to 100% and then immediately back down during normal workstation usage. The screen will freeze then flash black, then restore itself and be operating fine. Once the whole machine did freeze forcing a restart.
Another issue is that on boot, the 2070S fans ramp up to 100% and will stay there until I open EVGA precision. This is an issue because I dual boot linux, but need to enter windows after a full power on (this doesn't happen during reboots)
I have checked the seating of everything, including the power cables and nothing seems awry.
Thank you. Any help is greatly appreciated! I hope to figure things out before any warranty issues.
