2080 Getting lower frames

I've just got a 2080 and i'm unsure whether it is performing as it should. I am only playing at 1080p at the moment (getting a 1440p monitor next month) but compared to some benchmarks i've seen I am quite a way off. One example is pubg, the benchmarks i've seen are easily going over 120hz if not higher yet im closer to 85-100fps on average. I have the 2080 paired with a i7 8700k.

Is there any way to see if my GPU is performing correctly?

Are you disabling V-Sync ? If not please do and try again. Don't have PBUG or i'd run a comparison benchmark for you.

It is off, im getting similar fps on Blackout BO4 if you have that.

Can i confirm you have updated your drivers to 416.34 ?
What motherboard are you using and is anything overclocked ?
PSU details please ?

Yes i'm using 416.34.
Im using the ASRock z370 extreme 4
PSU is Seasonic 650w 80plus gold
My cable is HDMI 2.0 (only temporary until i get a new monitor)

Compared to all the benchmarks i've seen i'm getting about 50% less which is quite concerning.
