Hey guys,

Just got the new gpu and installed.

Previously was running 2 1080's sli.

Currently i7 6700k
Hero mobo
16gb ram 3200hz
750w gold psu

Have both 8 pins power cables in, seated properly on mobo.

Power is running fine and fans work.

Drivers are reinstalled twice, each time ddu was used to ensure a clean install.

When loading a game fans go immediately to 100%, temps say 70/72c and gpu usage says 100%. Fps is less then half of what it should be sticking to, 45fps in gow4 for example.

Any advice on possible fix or insight?

I'm unable to modify the fan curve with msi afterburner also it's greyed out.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

edit: playing on 3440x1440 120hz

I may do that, just want to exhaust all other options first.

Downloaded another monitoring software there and can see the fans are only at 43% (even tho they sound ridiculous compared to my strix 1080's) so high usage and low fps is still the issue but fans seem to be a non issue if the software is correct

Did a reinstall of both, ran benchmarks, ran fan control software to try and stop the 100% fan (monitoring software was wrong). Sending it back, must have been damaged in transit. Cant find any other reason its 100% usage, 73c temps instantly in game , 100% fan and 40% expected fps.

I did just after I posted and it's perfect with the 1080,performance etc all what it shud be. Have rma ready for it Monday as well so I'll send it then. Hopefully get a replacement in the week from overclockers. They've always been on the ball before!

Yeah should be fine, overclockers have been great for me in the past.
