[SOLVED] 2080TI constantly turning off and on

Hey guys.

Just finished installing my new GPU (went from 1060 6gb to a new 2080ti Aorus Extreme). I don't understand why the GPU is constantly turning off and on while my PC is running since I should have enough power for it. As you can see from the vid it has a weird behaviour then the fans go off with the rgb lighting for 20 30 sec then on again (barely) then off for a random amount of seconds then on again etc etc...

My monitors are still running fine along with my entire pc.. It's just that the GPU goes to 'sleep'

My current specs are:

CPU: I7-8700 3.2 GHz
Cooler: DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX GT RGB
RAM: 16 GB Corsair Vengeance RED Light 3200mhz
Mobo: Gigabyte AORUS Z370 AORUS ULTRA GAMING WIFI
1TB SSD + 256 SSD + 2TB SSHD Firecuda
Keyboard: Razer DeathStalker
Mouse: Razer Abyssus
PSU: EVGA 750GQ 80+ GOLD Semi Mod 210-GQ-0750-V3
and a case with 8RGB fans on it (i know... i like rgb..haha)

Uninstall your GPU and check if the cables from the shroud (fan case on card) are unplugged or not plugged in all the way. If you don't notice any unplugged cables then you might have a defective shroud. I'm assuming you've used that riser on your 1060 so it can't be that. Also try updating the VBIOS (firmware) for the GPU, you can do that with a program called, NVFlash. Please watch a quick guide as doing it wrong could result in bricking your GPU.

I've had the 1060 on that riser for a couple of days without any issues. I'll try and check the cables... but then again it should either fully work or not ...

Does Bios rly need a firmware update for this card ? just from jumping from 1060 to 2080ti ? just curios why would that be the case

Am I dumb if I'm using 1 power cable that has 2x 4pin to power the gpu? Should i try to use a separate 4pin cable from the psu for the second power entry?(i have a modular psu with free power cables)

already have rgb fusion and aorus.

from GPU-Z I can see that the card works fine but fans still go off from time to time ( i presume that the RGBs on the fans only work while the fans are on)

Woah woah woah, first answer me this, ARE YOU GIVING THE GPU ENOUGH POWER? The 2080 Ti Aourus Extreme requires 2x 8 PINS (A TOTAL OF 16 PINS) to power the card, it doesn't matter if you have 2x4 to fill 1 of the 8 pin slots as bridging doesn't reduce power draw, but you must have all 16 pins filled.

I'm not talking about the Motherboard's BIOS, the graphics card has a bios firmware of its own called VBIOS. It's the video cards own firmware that determine the fan controls, lighting, and power draw. You'll need to learn how to properly update it using specific firmware or else you will break the video card. You should go on gigabyte's forum to see what the latest bios is and if your card has it installed.
