Question 2080ti crash in game, blue screen HDMI not connected?

So this happened twice in about 10 hours.

Was playing my game and it crashed and the GPU seemed to disconnected?
there was no artifacts or whatever.
My monitor was on and said HDMI not connected
My monitor is also pretty old, its 60 hz II have one on the way next week.

Is the issue in my old monitor? or is my card bad?


I just changed out the PSU to a corsair one and got the crash again in about an hour of gaming.
I had to restart the pc because monitor was no longer responding.
When I restarted the 2080 ti card sait it was working properly.

Old monitors with new vid sources on a questionable hdmi cable.... Thats gonna be an issue.

There are many different standards/versions of hdmi. The hdmi port on the monitor AND the cable have to be capable of handling all the ones and zeros coming from something like a 2080ti. Older monitors sometimes can't handle it and they just wig out. There can also be weird copywrite things going on. hdmi sucks.

Oh and use the display port (DP). There is a reason why new vid cards have 3 of those and only 1 hdmi.

Hi guys, crashed again on the older drivers I tried.

Screen turns black and all programs are no longer able to be heard have to restart PC. I guess I have a bad card
