Question 2080ti display ports

Hey guys! I just got a second monitor and was looking to set them up properly.

The issue I’m running in to is, I have two display ports on my 2080ti so I plugged it in to each and then in to the monitors. Only one monitor receives a signal this way, but if I plug the other one in through hdmi it displays just fine.

Is the second display port on the graphics card not used for a second monitor? I read about daisy chaining, is that what the other port is used for?

latest drivers? from Nvidia.

Yea I have the latest drivers installed. Tried googling around and I can’t seem to find anything. First time I’ve tried dual monitor so I hope the card isn’t messed up because it’s way past RMA status.

And telling windows to extend the display with dual DP monitors does nothing? When you plug it in through HDMI it will seem like a different screen to windows and so it probably won't apply the same settings to it when it is connecting via DP.

It isn’t showing the other monitor as an option with dual DP plugged in, so I have no option to extend displays.
