Hi all,

New to this forum - hope you can help me find a solution for this problem.

I have a two year old machine, that used to perform really well, but recently been having trouble getting the FPS I was used to. Thought maybe an update to the Geforce driver would help, but it continues.

So thought I would do 3Dmark benchmark and compare, and my score is in the below 2% of same systems. Just did a complete reinstall of Windows, which didn't help.

Is there anything in the benchmark that stands out? Or anything you would recommend me try?

Solution
At this point it could come down to your CPU and ram.

Looking at your last Userbenchmark your GPU was running Clock speed 2250MHz Memory 3500MHz, while mine was at Clock 2190Mhz Memory 3500MHz.

It then comes down to
CPU ME: 5.1Ghz locked You: 5.0Ghz boost
MEM ME: 3200Mhz cl14 You: 3000Mhz CL15
Im also on a older GPU driver then you.

Theoretically your GPU should be doing better then mine based on Clock and Memory speeds, so the only thing i see different is CPU and Memory speeds.

Thanks for that tip - it did raise the score a bit, but still don't think its at the level it should be. Other 2080ti´s, that are running regular core speeds are at +13-14.000.

So strange that it can suddenly happen like this. Would be easier to understand if it just didn't work. Not loosing 25% performance :(

G-Sync was on, so ran another test. Also closed NZXT Cam background task - as it seemed like there was heavy background activity. This helped on the result in a big way - however, GPU is still not performing as expected and Time Spy is still at the same score. GPU is in the top slot, and Ive never changed anything in the PC since I got it, which really makes it odd I am seeing a performance decline.

UserBenchmarks: Game 120%, Desk 100%, Work 107%
CPU: Intel Core i7-8086K - 95.8%
GPU: Nvidia RTX 2080-Ti - 123%
SSD: Samsung 970 Evo NVMe PCIe M.2 250GB - 195.6%
SSD: Samsung 860 Evo 1TB - 130.2%
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000 C15 2x8GB - 93.2%
MBD: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-F GAMING

My computer is spec'ed about the same as yours

https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/42683148
CPU: 8700k @ 5.1Ghz 103%
GPU: Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti stock 178%
SSD: Samsung 970 Evo Pluse NVMe 500GB 231%
SSD: Samsung 970 Evo Pluse NVMe 1TB 366%
RAM: G.Skill 3200Mhz C14 2x8GB 102%
MB: Asus Maximus X Hero Z370

What are your temps at when running the test? and what is your PSU. The biggest thing with the RTX cards is power and temp. As long as temps are ok and you are under the power draw for the card it will keep boosting. Its only when you hit the power limit or the card gets to hot will it start to throttle itself.

My PSU is a Corsair RM750x (2018)

GPU is around 70c when gaming/testing

I have tweaked a lot of different things, and have gotten better scores and closer to your scores - but still below you :

CPU: Intel Core i7-8086K - 98.8%
GPU: Nvidia RTX 2080-Ti - 162.2%
SSD: Samsung 970 Evo NVMe PCIe M.2 250GB - 250.3%
SSD: Samsung 860 Evo 1TB - 132.3%
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000 C15 2x8GB - 92.9%
MBD: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-F GAMING

My computer is spec'ed about the same as yours

Thanks for helping, I have run through Time Spy, with HWiNFO logging in the background. Here is the log file : https://we.tl/t-HEHdhkevdB

I am using a Corsair RM750x (2018) PSU

Your GPU scores are still all over the place.
Run HWiNFO64 in the background (sensors only, logging on). Run through Time Spy a few times. Check out the log file and/or upload it somewhere where we can have a look.

What PSU are you using?

Your results are not terrible but how much better was it before?

If this is a mostly gaming computer I say disable the meltdown and spectre fixes and try again
https://www.grc.com/inspectre.htm
That program will allow you to disable the fixes and reactivate them if you chose to do so.

Ive got a few systems running with it disabled and I mine on one of them and do my banking on the other without issue so far. I doubt there is some type of global conspiracy to invade your privacy and steal your data... could be though,

I do suggest at least test your pc with those fixes disabled i've gained substantial perfomance at least 20% in most games.

Lastly your psu could be failing and having issues supplying power.
