Question 20X write amplification??

I have a nearly new Lite-On SATA M.2 drive that shows about 150 GB host writes then the NAND write is over 3 TB... How is this possible? Can anyone explain this?

How old is nearly new ? Might want to also state what sort of apps the SSD is installed with and what sort of app's are in your startup. Often times a memory leak can and will cause the excessive read/write counts, meaning this could be an OS bug. Speaking of, what OS are you on?

factory installed Windows on a new laptop, and was not really used for any real work. Seen lots of turn on just for checking external storage contents.
"Nearly new" I meant by not seeing much writes after the factory install of Windows 10.
Never connected to internet either. (no Windows updates since new)
