Hey,
I was looking at 2560:1080p monitors and the only thing holding me back from getting one is if some games won't support it, so what I'm wondering is what games hVe support for 2560:1440 gaming?

Solution
A 21:9 widescreen monitor is really just 2 x 23.6" 1080P screens side by side. Games will support the format with no problem. I am also in the same boat as to whether I want to get a 21:9 monitor or get 3 x 1080P screens. I've seen 21:9 monitors in action and the difference is really something compared to a single 1080P screen.
I have been debating the same thing for myself, a 29" 2560x1080 is about the same price as a 1440p 27". the 27" is vertically more resolution and taller but the 21:9 is wider..... yet both are similar price to some of the cheaper 4k monitors.... and then yeah, there is game support. Most newer games i would assume support it, but then some older ones you might be running with black bars down the sides. I havnt been able to find a source of all supported games for 21:9 either.

the game must support the aspect ratio to fill the screen though. Like some older games dont support 16:9 resolutions natively, although there is often a settings tweak to get them to work. There was a good deal on an lg 29" monitor here in Aus that came up recently, upon further investigation there was a reason for the lower price, although its an IPS screen, its 6 bit (lg 29UM55) not 8 bit (lg 29UM65) so not going to get it. im sure ill find a good deal on a good one at some stage, no urgency.
