Hi all,
I'm absoloutely clueless when it comes to monitors, so I'm just wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a monitor for gaming. Price range of £100-150 ($190-240).

Colour on the current monitor has started to fade after 2 years.

Running on an r5870.
Thanks for your time.

Tried adding the template but says I don't have permission to edit my original post for some reason.

Thanks for the suggestion, say I was to use this monitor but only at 1280 x 1024 for certain games (GTA 4 / Crysis), would the image quality suffer more than usual due to the increased screen size?

Approximate Purchase Date: ASAP / This week

Budget Range: £100 - £150 / $190 - $240

Monitor Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming --> Surfing --> Editing --> Films/Movies

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Amazon / Ebuyer

Physical Size (Diagonal): 21"

Resolution(s) You'll Consider: 1920x1080 max really due to primarily being used for gaming.

Computers and Other Devices To Attach: Xbox 360 / HDMI

Panel Type(s) Desired: Unsure

LED Backlight: Unsure

Speakers: Avoided

Wall-Mount: Avoided

Additional Comments: For gaming so I would guess low lag and good image quality.

If you scale it up to 1350x1080 (maintaining aspect ratio), the quality loss would be attributed to pixel interpolation rather than screen size. If you use 1:1 scaling, you'd have some black all around it, but the pixel pitch for a 23.6 inch 1920x1080 monitor is 0.272 mm, which is between that of a 17-inch 1280x1024 monitor (0.264 mm) and that of a 19-inch 1280x1024 monitor (0.294 mm)

A 21.5 inch 1920x1080 monitor would give you slightly less height than a 17 inch 1280x1024 monitor, but you'd get a smaller image when using 1:1 scaling, and pixel interpolation would look worse than a 1280x1024 native monitor if you insist on scaling to the full height of the panel.
