2133 O.C question

I just purchased my first build and the person I am I'm afraid I overlooked a part. I bought the ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 Motherboard since my cpu is a fx 6300 and it says 2133 (OC) and the memory I bought is the G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series at 2133 speed and I was wondering will the G. Skill at the speed it is work with my mobo.

Might and might not, not a ton of your CPU can carry 2133, look in the BIOS for a setting like XMP, DOCP, EOCP or AMp - that's what AMD mobos use for auto setup on DRAM, enable whichever it has and select 2133, if no joy try 1866 if still problems, let us know the model number of the DRAM and we can try manual setup

So I can still use the 2133 ram but have it run as a 1866 correct? The model of the ram is F3-2133C9D-8GXL if that helps any

Should yes, prob run 1866 and 2133 is possible, if you try and any problems give me a shout, if it doesn't want to run 2133, the RJ Xs are good with AMD and flexible in their timing setups 😉

Ok, ya I'm not receiving the parts until Thursday and probably wont start building it until Friday. If you don't mind I'll be contacting you if you don't mind if things go down hill. Thank you so much!
