Hi,
this is my PC: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mKNxqp.
I wanted to ask how much more performance can I get with 2x8GB 3200MHz cl16 in games like CSGO and Valorant. (This is really important because I don't want to waste money if I'm not getting any performance out of it) (I'm playing on 1080p, 144hz monitor and my fps sometimes drops under 144 so I want to know if this ram upgrade could help boost my fps and make them stay over 144) (i5 6600k is on auto OC around 4.2 GHz if that matters in some way)
Also can my motherboard support dual channel at 3200MHz with this ram: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/QB...-gb-2-x-8-gb-ddr4-3200-memory-hx432c16fb3k216
And does this ram have an xmp profile or do I need to manually OC?
Ty in advance.

Solution
You would not notice any significant difference.
Here is an older study:
Only if you were using integrated graphics would there be any performance boost.
Buying a single 16gb stick was a bit of a mistake, but that is water under the bridge.

You can get some nice cpu performance increase if you were to overclock the 6600K modestly.
I would imagine that you could get to about 4.6 or better with your cooler.
Here are some historical binning stats:

That said, your best bet for improved performance is via a graphics card upgrade, and that is a tough thing to do these days.
Try this simple test:
Run...
I’d expect much higher gains from manually overclocking the cpu, a 4.2GHz overclock is barely an overclock given the single core boost at stock is 4.1GHz. A manual overclock from what I have read should reach 4.5GHz without too much trouble. Your only challenge might be if your cooler is sufficient.

You could also try overclocking your current RAM. You could try manually setting it to 2400mhz, if it is not stable try increasing the DRAM voltage to 1.350v.

I'm just asking about ram, I stated that the CPU is OC only if that has anything to do with ram scaling.
I don't really have time to manualy OC.

RAM speed on a 6600k had very limited benefits. You might be lucky to see a 5% increase in fps. If you are serious about wanting more FPS the biggest opportunity is properly overclocking the cpu, a 6600k should hit 4.5 without much effort.

Try this simple test:
Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
This makes the graphics card loaf a bit.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.

Yes the mobo supports dual channel@3200.
Yes the ram supports xmp.
As to perf gain you would need to try it and see.... it certainly won't be less.

Any recommended videos on how to safely OC the i5?
