Hi

Now that I've got a shiny new pc, time to upgrade my monitor. I've currently got an LG L227WT and want to replace my old Philips 170B.

The "obvious" choice now is to get a 3D monitor. I'm a medium-level gamer, so looking for something reasonably priced, although I don't really have a budget. The only requirement is that it has at least one hdmi and one dvi-d. I have a freeview box with hdmi out, so I want to be able to connect to it. The option of an in-built 2D to 3D converter sounds interesting, as it might be able to make freeview into 3D.

I like the look of the BenQ XL2420T, which is billed as having support for "NVIDIA 3D Vision 2 ready" but my Graphics card is an AMD (Sapphire Radeon 7950 OC) - so does that mean I can't get any benefit from it?

Any suggestions?

Since you don't have nvidia 3D Vision The only benefit from BenQ XL2420T would be the 120hz display (with Dual LInk DVI) i'm not sure but maybe you can buy third party glasses and use it with third party drivers (must check out).

What you will need to do is use third party drivers, like DDD or IZ3D to enable 3D Vision, so you will need a 3D Display and 3D Glasses, check the list for a good display compatible with AMD video cards.
