22" and 8800gt ??

Hi i've been using a LG 17" CRT for some time and thnik about upgrading to a 22" LCd monitor.But;
My confg. is

AMD X2 6000 @ 3.4 ghz
3gb Corsair Ram @ 800 Mhz
Win XP SP 3 32 Bit
Sparkle 8800 Gt

I mostly use this pc to play games and with this configuration i can play almost all games with 1280*1024 at high.As far as i know LCD monitors give their optimum performance at their native resolutions which is 1680*1024 for most 22" s.
So , do you think my pc is enough for that resolution or will it be a waste of time / money to spend to a monitor that my pc cant handle.

By going to a 22" widescreen that supports 1680x1050, you should see little to no change in performance. If you want higher resolutions (ex. 1980x1200), you may need to consider SLI (or 2 in 1 card) for best performance in gaming. I've owned a 22" Gateway for over a year now... couldn't be happier!!

Thanks for your reply.I dont know if i could explain myself with my bad english but the last think i want is a 22" slideshow : ) And will be very happy with 1680*1024 at least till i change my cpu and motherboard.

An 8800GT is fine for 1680x1050.

now i have one more question 😀 i am thinking about buying a samsung 2253BW which is 22" and max res of 1680*1050.But with same price i can buy T200 of samsung which is 20" but has the same max res.
Some ppl say 22" is too big for pc applications and 20" is more than enough for an avarage pc user , and samsung's T series are far better than 2253BW.
So which one you would buy if you were me.

Honestly, I'd buy neither.

I'd get a Dell Ultrasharp 2209WA.
