I am looking for a second monitor preferably a 24" IPS monitor for rpgs, browsing etc etc.

I already have the ASUS VG248QE and it is great for fps.The colors on the ASUS blah @ best. Any suggestions would be welcome.

I dont have space for a 27" monitor on my desk, 24 is the absolute max I can go.

If I rearrange my speakers I could get a 27" (maybe). If so would a 27" be better. I sit like 2 feet away from the monitor. Or would it be awkward and put too much strain on my eyes, switching back and forth from between 24 and 27" ?

It will require a bit of time getting used to switching back and forth between a 24" and a 27" monitor, but you will get used to it.

You will have a hell of a lot more immersion when playing on a 27" monitor, and i dont think it would be awkward or put too much strain on your eyes. I would recommend you get a 27" monitor if you can afford it.

Your GPU could easily handle games on 1440p @ 60fps. The r9 290 is designed with 1440p gaming in mind. Although keep in mind that you will not be able to max out all games with aa/msaa and still maintain 60fps at all times.

I dont want to regret my monitor purchase if my gpu cant handle future games like witcher 3 :p. I think I will stick with a 1080p monitor for now. The Asus does look nice btw.

I suggest you stick with a 1080p display, if you plan to play the witcher 3 and future games on ultra :p
