Hi guys, i am looking to buy a new monitor. I would like it to be ips panel, because i love when open world games and other stuff look pretty. On the other hand i play dota 2 and fps games(not profesionally). Also, in my opinion perfect size of screen is 24 inches. I really need help to choose, especially because i dont know if i should go to 1080p or 1440p, and what refresh rate would be best for me. All advices are welcome!
My configuration is:
ASROCK AB350 Pro4

Samsung doesn't know how to make PC monitors, especially gaming ones—it's great in T.V., but monitors, still meh.

The differences between TN and IPS panels, including but not limited to:
- TN standard has higher refresh rate—144Hz; standard IPS comes with 60Hz, 100Hz+ ones cost an arm and a leg;
- TN has moderate colours; IPS has more accurate colours;
- TN is very inexpensive, on the contrary to IPS;
- TN has the lowest input lag—1ms; IPS usually ranges between 4–8ms (1ms comes with a hefty price);
- TN is for competitive games' professionals; IPS for casual players who look for stunning view, and video editing professionals;
- IPS offers wider viewing angles with better colour accuracy, unlike TN panel.

For competitive gaming (Dota 2, LoL, WoW, CS:GO, PUBG, etc.), monitors with TN panel usually become the right pick because of their higher refresh rate, fast G2G (Grey-2-Grey) which determines input lag, and they have the least one—1ms—and they are insanely inexpensive. Something like ASUS VG248QE 24".

Your rig can run 1080p, 1440p, and slight 4K with no problem. But the less you run, the more FPS you get in games (this matters when it comes to graphically demanding AAA games), and the smoother the games become.
