24 inch vs 27 inch 1440p

Hi guys, I am stuck between the dell s2417dg or the dell s2716dg they are the exact same except for the fact that the 24 inch (s2417dg) has a 165hz instead of 144hz and doesn't have inverse ghosting which the 27 inch has. I am sitting about 60-70 cm away from the monitor and want to play csgo and overwatch but also games like the witcher 3 and skyrim. So my main concers are is 24 inches too small for 1440p and for the distance I'm sitting from my monitor? is 165hz and higher ppi worth sacrificing for 27 inches. I am leaning towards the 24 inch but people say that 27 inches is the best size for 1440p and i am afraid if 24 inch will be to small. Sorry for the long questinon. Thanks.

Also i heard that on 1440p 24 inches its best to scale to 125% but I've heard that windows scalling can be messed up but i also read that the 27 inch one could have more banding depending on how far you sit I'm new to this and i am so confused I need your guys help

I'd choose 27" even for 1080p. For 1440p there's absolutely no question - only 27" and up.

It is a hard decision but i think i will go 27 apparently 24 is really small and the hud in games is also really small, also i will have to scale to 125% on24 inch which takes away the extra screen real estate 1440p provides

At 60-70 cm away from your monitor, I would highly suggest getting a 27" 1080p (not 1440p). I sit in the same distance (my tabletop is ~70cm deep and monitors mounted at the edge). My 29" (equivalent to ~23") 1080p looks too small (texts, icons, etc.) while my 27" 1080p has better visual acquity (readable texts, icons, etc.). If you want 1440p, get at least a 32" for that 60-70 cm distance. The best visual acquity of a 27" 1440p without scaling windows would be roughly ~50cm or less.

My 5'' phone has a 1440o resolution.

If the scaling is right I don't see a problem.

As for the S2417DG it's actually a 144Hz panel that is overclocked to 165Hz when G-Sync is enabled

well my desk is 75cm deep but this will be smaller due to monitor size accessories etc so I think 27 will be just fine also I want to play competitve fps so 32 would be to far for me to turn my head to see the whole screen.

I like having 24" for 1080p and in my opinion, 27" is ideal for 1440p especially due to the extra pixel real estate for work, just do not sit too far.
I have migrated fully to 1440p. I am using XB270HU and PB278QR. I ain't going back to 1080p.
Just do not forget, if you game on 1440p, you will need quite a lot more powerful rig compared to on 1080p to get at least 60 fps on modern heavy AAA games.

For 2 feet viewing distance, if you want to have 27" monitor, 1440p is the way to go in my opinion.
