I'm looking for an good IPS monitor either 24" or 27" for under $200. I plan on buying two of whatever monitor I choose for dual monitor setup

I've been researching IPS monitors and found they offer better image quality compared to TN monitors, which is the main reason for wanting an IPS monitor.

I will be mostly using it for gaming and watching videos/movies. Just about anything is a step up from my current monitor which 1680 x 1050 with 16 ms response time.

I'm not too worried about the slower response time of IPS monitors or the lower refresh rate for IPS monitors vs TN monitors for gaming.

Suggestions for good quality 24" or 27" monitors in my price range regardless if they're IPS or not are welcome too.

Here's a...
Personally, I would never use anything smaller than a 27" Screen. A few years ago I bought a 27" monitor that was quite nice and lasted a long time. Then last year I decided to upgrade to a Samsung 32" TV (instead of a monitor). The picture/display was fantastic and the larger screen just totally spoiled me... but the problem with that was... almost all TV's sold are designed to NOT play nicely with your computer's Power Manager Scheme... so you have to manually turn the TV on and off. It was ok... but I got tired of doing that after about a year...

So last month I decided to go back to using a Computer Monitor... and ended up getting a 27" BenQ 1440 monitor. I'll admit it took me a week to get used to a smaller screen after using 32"... but now I'm used to it. As far as GAMING on a 1440 screen... I honestly can't see much of a difference between that and 1080p except that text is a tiny bit smaller.

You asked about a good monitor to get. Hmmmm..... Might I suggest that you consider one of those Super Ultrawide Monitors. I was so tempted to get a 34" version... but I think if I were to buy another monitor.. I would be one of those. You could consider the 29" model, which is like having Dual 24" Monitors.

Here's a website that I think you'd find helpful: http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/monitor/#W=2300,2800&T=1,5&H=60,240&p=1&sort=a8&page=1

It's already been presorted for you but I think you should be able to figure out how to use it.

If you're looking for a monitor for gaming, you should look for a monitor with a refresh rate of at least 60Hz and a response time of 5ms or less.
