Hi guys, I've got this really old alienware that I picked up super cheap.

It power supply needed replacing so I did that.
It works just fine for the most part, except i am getting blue screens while stress testing on heaven after awhile. (not immediately and somewhat random, im able to sometimes do 2-4 runs of heaven without issues.)

Anyway the event viewer brings up the kernel power issue, and upon inspection found some pins on the 24 pin cable looked burned out.

I assume its the cable. However I know that each pin does something different and wanted to know if it was safe to assume this and order a new cable (the cables are dell proprietary to their weird psu).

here are the pics:

Can you post a picture of that one?
Just use Imgur to upload to and copy the .IMG link here in a next post.
From what i see does it look like a standard atx psu so should any do fine.Only that connector might be an issue. You might even cosider a decent low budget aircooler to replace the aio cooler.

I'm not sure what kind of Alienware to be honest, but it's old (i7 970) and has giant metal chassis.
If you know how to identify alienware machines like this let me know.

The PSU is modular, but its all one plug, thats why I call it weird. Additionally the PSU contains a special connector for this extra board Dell has included with has some fans/pump power for their AIO water cooler, so you can't just use any old power supply unless there is some way to hook that power board to it.

This is the psu i purchased to replace it

the 24 pin on the motherboard does appear fine - that is to say none of the ports or pins appear any different from eachother or to have any damage.
