24 Pin Connector wont clip in

I am in the middle of my first pc build and the 24 pin power connector will not clip into the motherboard. I have tried using a lot of force and no go. I feel like if I push anymore the motherboard will break. I have an ASRock H97 Anniversary Motherboard and the EVGA 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply. Please help!

The motherboard is mounted to an ATX compatible case?

Just push, you'll be amazed at the flex a modern board can handle.

if you go here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157564 and click on the picture and rotate the picture where you see the 24pin power connector you will see that it does have a lock. So you'r just not pushing in hard enough.

try pushing in 1 side first then the other. don't push the hole thing in at once. focuse on 1 side and then push the other side.
