24 pin power supply connector from server PSU to ATX

Hi Guys.

So I have just recently moved to the UK ( about a month ago) and only took the bare essential parts of my desktop with me. One of which was not my PSU

At work they were chucking some old Dell tower servers and I scavenged a 750 watt dell power supply (h750p-00)

The PSU has a 6 pin PCI-E connector and I have purchased an 8 pin EPS mother board Header adapter that uses the original 4 pin plus molex ( not great I know but no overclocking and will do for now)

My problem is the 24 pin main motherboard power connector.

It plugs in perfectly, even with the satisfying click, but the colours are all wrong and its missing 2 cables.

Can I simple power it on ?
Will this destroy my board?
Should I pop the pins out and re-organise them? Is this even possible ?

Thanks in advance guys.
PS I don't have a multi meter, If it will help, I will get a cheap one

Solution
Yes, it could destroy your board, since Dell uses proprietary hardware and it will be hard to know the voltage of each pin unless you test it.

I see the 24pin wire is missing which on a ATX standard PSU is a ground wire.
I cannot see the other missing wire.

Solution
Most Dell workstation and server PSUs of that size were fully modular and it may have any one of several wiring harnesses attached depending on what system it came in. Almost none of them followed the ATX layout. So even if the connectors were correct the length of the wires could be inconvenient. The confusion on the color coding is probably because Dell PSUs are multirail and each 12V. rail willl have it's own color code. Unless you know which system the PSU and harness came out of there's a very good chance it won't work. Some of the Dell Alienware, and XPS computers followed ATX protocols. The problem is probably more with the wiring harness than the PSU.
