I have a female 24 pin PSU plug on a Dell motherboard too close to the back end of my video card, and I am looking for a right angle 24-pin adapter so the bottom of the card can float over it. The adapter below, and the others I have found, turn or bend the wrong direction. The clip is facing into the motherboard, so this adapter would push the wiring into everything.

ATX 24Pin Right Angle Female to 24Pin Male 90 Degree Power Adapter, Mainboard Connector for Desktops PC Chassis PSU Installation Cable

I am searching for an adapter that turns in the opposite direction, away from the side with the clip.

Thanks

I might have to mod the cooling on the card. It would be good to have a better solution if I want to ever change video cards.

It is for a gaming computer in my garage for LAN games. I have a HD4850 1gb card that fits, but my plan was to put in a GTX 460 I just picked up.

I have an old Zalman GPU cooler that I have never used, 15 years old, likely, but it is nice and has heat pipes. With that on, instead od the stock cooling, the 460 should fit.

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Especially the Dell motherboard and PSU.

This:

"so this adapter would push the wiring into everything."

What is "everything"?

Are you able to take a couple photographs and post via imgur (www.imgur.com)?

With and without the PSU installed. Being able to actually see the problem will be helpful.

Be sure that the photographs show where the adapter needs to be installed.

OK. You are right. Didn't even think about an adapter like that, and I have lots of space below in the case I am using for this setup. If I use a cable and move the card down several slots in my case, is there an easy way to make the card secure, simulating being plugged into the motherboard? Thanks. I didn't really want to tear apart the cooling on this GTX 460.

Because it's a Dell. They're the only ones that do this and I have no idea why.

I am putting computers together from scraps for a LAN lab. It has a i7-2600 in it and 8 GB of DDR3. That is a good scrap find. I'll get that GTX 460 going in it or some other smaller cards. One of my HD 5850s is on the short side, and I might be able to mod its cooler, too.

But i like the idea of a PCIE raiser cable if it is cheap.
