So, I have looked around soooo many times but, i cant find anything, So, Can i run the Nvidia geforce 620 Gt on the 240w psu, I have it running right now beacuse, When i use the extreme calculator, It says i only need 218 w, So... Which is it?

Solution

The power supply meets NVIDIA's recommended system power supply's combined +12 Volt continuous current rating requirement so it should work. The power supply's total wattage isn't what matters.

You say you have it running right now, so what's the problem?
well, The system was built in 2010, So... Would it work?

EDIT: sorry, My system is a Hp compaq 8100 Elite SFF

Intel i5 660

DDR3 4gb (2x4gb) 1333mhz

19" monitor

DVD+RW drive

500 gb seagate HDD

(fan to cool off system is in the PSU)

For a system using a single GeForce GT 620 graphics card NVIDIA specifies a minimum of a 300 Watt or greater power supply that has a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 18 Amps or greater.

Total Power Supply Wattage is NOT the crucial factor in power supply selection!!! Sufficient Total Combined Continuous Power/Current Available on the +12V Rail(s) rated at 45°C - 50°C ambient temperature, is the most critical factor.

The HP OEM 240 Watt power supply meets or exceeds the maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating required for a system using a single GeForce GT 620 graphics card.

+12.1Vmain === 14A
+12.1Vcpu === 12A
+12Vsb === 1.3A
-12V === 0.15A

The 80 PLUS database shows that the power supply was tested under full load with the combined +12.1Vmain and +12.1Vcpu at 18.7 Amps.

It's definitely not a standard ATX12V design since there's no +3.3V, +5V and +5Vsb rails.

So, Then, This power supply will work? or its just gonna blow up?

EDIT: sorry, I dont really understand that... Only that it has more then it needs?
