2400g vrs older r9 280

going to try to upgrade soon but cant afford new guts and vid card. how would my 5 yr old sapphire r9 280 3 gig (not X) stand against the onboard ryzen 2400g chip? I'm currently on amd 6100 6 core.
would I be better off keeping the vid card and trying for 1500/1600? cards old and ive already had to strap external fans to it because sapphire dropped a batch with garbage fans.

the r9 280 will preform better its roughly equivalent to a gtx 1050 I would upgrade your processor instead of gpu you will see a bigger benefit

The 280 is nearly double the performance of the vega 11. You would be better off with a 1600 or 2600. The 1500x is about the same as a 2400g.

wasn't aware that the 280 ranked that high being as old as it is. I'm still worried about it failing with the multitude of issues ive had with my system over the last couple years. ill look up the 2600 and see what its got going. didn't know that one was out.

ok so I should go with a 1600. can always get a board with vid on it just in case. maybe I can catch a 1700 on sale. any input on what board to get? I think they start out at 350 but are now up to 470.
