2400Mhrz RAM running at 800Mhrz

I've recently purchased 8gb (2x4gb) EVGA SuperSC ddr3 memory and it is running at 800Mhrz. I have looked around on how to fix it and I have enabled XMP in the bios. My motherboard is a Gigabyte 970A-UD3P And CPU is Fx8350. I would like some help on how to get the memory to run at its specified speed and or close to it.

Hmm well I don't know but I do know that in XMP 800 is 1600 because DDR = double data rate. So it is running at 1600Mhz. That motherboard only supports up to 1866Mhz RAM (2000 with OC) so your RAM will be downclocked - but it should be at 1866 not 1600.

Look in the BIOS for EOCP or XMP and see what options it presents. To run 2400 with an 8350 could take a rather healthy OC
