2400mhz ram on M5A99X EVO R2.0

Hello! I’m new to all things overclocking etc. and recently i got a good deal on G.SKILL Ares DDR3 2400 C11 2x8GB.

I know the mb doesn’t support 2400mhz ram so it automatically downclocked it to 1333mhz. I got the sticks to boot with 1866mhz on stock voltage and auto timings. I tinkered around with the timings and now they are 8-10-10-24. I stress tested the ram on prime95 custom test with these settings for 2 hrs without errors: min fft size 448, max fft 4096, memory to use 12000.

MaxxMEM2 results:

Copy: 11031 mbytes/sec
Read: 12055 mbytes/sec
Write: 5487 mbytes/sec
Latency: 58.2ms

They seem kinda low.

Is this the absolute best i can squeeze out of these sticks on my setup? The cpu fx 8350 and bios are on stock settings except for the ram timings.

Games and everything work great! I’m just wondering if theres still some extra potential to unlock :)

All input is very very much appreciated!

I have a asus m5a99fx pro r2.0 running 2400 MHz with g skill ram, my system wouldn't run with 11-13-13-31 timing I had to use 10-12-12-31 to get it to post. I also had to change setting's in the bios. my CPU is overclocked so I already had a increase in voltage to my CPU to help with the memory controller boost for higher ram speeds.
but for me to get to 2400 MHz i had to adj. these setting . I am still fine tuning at the moment so again this is the setting i used first to get my rig to run @ 2400 MHz. with 7 passes of memtest86+ with no errors.
here's the settings.. hope it helps.
- reduced the NB voltage to 1.125V
- raise the VDDR voltage to 1.219V
- raise a bit the NB HT voltage to 1.206V
- put the NB frequency to 2400Mhz
- put the HT link to 2400Mhz
- put the CPU and CPU/NB power response control to ultra fast
- put the DRAM power switching frequency to 500Khz

sorry that didn't work. i copied n pasted them from a site i used to get my rig to post at 2400 MHz
a lot of the setting i didn't use cause mine were already close or different due to my overclocking, again sorry!
we can try again if you would like? its your call. i went into my bios and changed a few things to match your fx 8350 CPU and you posted your not overclocking so i used basic settings that should work on your rig. i took screenshots so i don't have to type so much to save time! please disregard most of the left side of active voltages! i just changed the setting n took pictures! after reboot i would check CPU temp n voltages to make sure there close to what you set them to and readjust. if needed
first i would turn off all power saving stuff , then reboot to make sure it re boots. then if n when this works I'd turn the ones you want back on one by one to see if anything thing conflicts.

i would set your CPU clock and voltages n LLC n LLC/NB setting first then reboot again n check voltages n temps n then change your ram n ram timing settings last to see if this works. my ram timing picture is mine running at 10-12-12-31 you said yours is 11-13-13-31 so I'd try yours first then try mine again.

voltage settings https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1YcvvxLef1R9QOxpIQTFqYPHzQWTWIsg6?usp=sharing

you mite want to set your dram volts to 1.65 if this works back it down a bit if your able or what ever your ram's recommended voltage is
power control settings https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1pIDwHNQW5H1row5ZUgHhMfmdn3YewfUD?usp=sharing

to my understanding you need fast n stable voltage control for CPU n north bridge to be-able to run higher ram frequencies, along with LLC and LLC/NB n CPU power response n CPU/NB power response and DRAM power switching frequency come in to play.

timing settings https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1_vZ6cXGAEDu6qEC2Rfr2OQv26Xc4_BXR?usp=sharing

rest of timing settings https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/15EYkBnjBowKYSlvp0RS_bdGFMOXlniZm?usp=sharing

T1 is faster then T2 but Ive read T2 is more stable..note: after i set my timing my PC locked mine to T2 even tho i had it set on T1

again you can try my setting if you would like if they dont work this time I'm not sure i can help.. maybe some one with more knowledge can see this post n help you better then me.. I'm still learning this stuff myself Ive gotten very far from this site n reading on line but I'm no expert on any of this!! hope i didn't wast your time..good luck!

No dice even with these settings. Tried 2133mhz too on the ram but no. I appreciate your help man! I’m just gonna go with 1866mhz until i upgrade my mobo, cpu and ram with Asus PRIME B350-PLUS, + Ryzen 2600 + 16GB (2 x 8GB) 3000Mhz Ballistix Sport

well i guess it was worth a shot.. but i hear ya.
besides tiring only one ram stick.. I'm no help to ya..
there's so many different posts out on the web saying it works n it wont work and so many different settings and system set up's its very confusing!!
