[SOLVED] 240hz Monitor Displayport?

Okay, so I bought an Acer Predator XB272 240hz monitor, it came with an HDMI cable, power cable, USB cable, and displayport cable. My friend had gifted me a new PC for my birthday, it does not have a DisplayPort part to plug into and only an HDMI port and DVI port. Without having the displayport cable in the pc because I can't use it, I tried changing the advanced display settings but it can only go up to 60hz. I thought maybe I do need the displayport cable, so I thought maybe it'd be possible for cable that is a dvi on one end and displayport on the other end. I ordered that and I plugged it into my pc and I tried restarting and changing the display settings again but once again it can only go up to 60hz. At this point I'm thinking I just need the original displayport cable and a displayport on my pc. I don't really know anything about PC parts and etc so sorry if it's obvious what I need to do.

The games I've tested so far are Minecraft and League of Legends which I get 300+

You bought a 240Hz monitor for minecraft and league of legends...
The only 2 games that can be played and enjoyed on a 20 year old monitor on 30fps.
You are going to have to buy a graphics card with display port output.
