[SOLVED] 240Hz monitor with a 2060S?

Hello!

I want to buy a 240Hz monitor, but I'm not a 100% sure if my system would be capable of pushing out 240 fps with absolutely no issues. My system has an R5 3600X, 16GB of 3200MHz RAM, and an RTX 2060 Super. The only games I play are Fortnite at all LOW settings, and League of Legends at MEDIUM settings. So would I be really stupid if I bought a 240Hz monitor?

Fortnite is doable.
LoL is irrelevant - ultra high refresh is very niche, as it only benefits specific game genres, like shooters and racing. LoL is a PVP RTS game.

240 hz monitors in general are not needed at all, you won't be able to to tell the difference from a 144 hz one. 60-75-120-144 have a bit progressive improvement, 60 or 75 to 144hz is a good jump, from 144 and up it's mostly marketing without much real benefit. I'd stick with a 144hz screen.

What FPS can you get now? You would ideally want >180 FPS to make use of 240Hz.

I get around 190-240 frames, sometimes I even get up to 260.

So you know your FPS is good enough to take advantage of a 240Hz monitor.
