So I have purchased a brand new Samsung 245T at great price to be used for Photoshop, calibration was fine with i1D2 and I love it, except, the left side appears quite a bit brighter than expected. When the middle is calibrated to 100cdm/s, the left edge is 104cdm/s and the right is 93cdm/s (surprise because when viewing at the centre, the right side appears brighter too). Anyway, I was wondering if my 245T is considered to be a lemon, or typical for budget LCDs? I want to try another 245T but the shop is not willing to exchange for another 245T, only refund or exchange for another model. Is 245T that bad?

It's called backlight bleeding and it affects all LCD monitors to some degree, even the more expensive ones.

I have not seen any review of any LCD monitors whether calibrated or uncalibrated that has 100% uniform backlighting. It is a limitation of the technology.

If it really affects your Photoshop work then you might want to try another monitor which may or may not improve things.
