OK, I ordered my FP241W from NCIX back in December. I also got dead pixel coverage with it, meaning I could send it back if it had dead pixels. The one I got did, so I sent it back. During the transit time, BenQ stopped producing them, and NCIX sold out. They gave me a 241VW as a replacement. I have now sent back my fourth monitor due to dead pixels, and am about to receive my fifth. I'm at the end of the line with BenQ, their quality seems to be lacking recently. Can someone recommend a good all round 24" LCD monitor (color quality and gaming are #1 for me) without a TN panel in the $550-$600 price range? Thanks in advance for all your replies.

You should consider one of the LG 24" panels. Looks like the prices are going up and the availability is going down on all non-TN 24" panels, the only ones I know of that are still widely available are Samsung and Dell, and both of those have input lag issues.

Monitor technology is headed backwards.

You might want to try contacting BenQ. I have some problems with my FP241W and they agreed to send FedEx to pick it up and send me a replacement. They didn't mention anything about it being discontinued.

Try this I know it may seem odd.

OfficeMax has a 24" 8bit panel monitor for $300. It is called a SOYO (some may remember that name from Motherboard history-but this is a new company that bought the name)

CAVEAT look at the manufacture date-only get one manufactured on or before 11-07. That way you are sure to get the 8bit panel. MagicPants has it right the technology is headed backwards because of a number of issues. I currently have 5 of these. The last two I got, 1 was different. It was a TN panel. The others are perfect 8bit goodness and unbelievable for the price. They are barebones in that it has 1 vga , & 1 DVI. It is a 6ms panel I have not seen any lag. It has speakers, is very bright 500nits, contrast is 3000:1 but I have NOT seen any bleeding. Officemax also has a warranty that also covers everything including accidental damage that is $30 for one year and $50 for 3 years.

Well, since I can't seem to find anything similar to the BenQ, I guess I'm going to get the Gateway FHD2400. Anyone have any other reccomendations or reasons why I shouldn't get the Gateway?

Yes they are, and I have nothing bad to say about NCIX, in fact, I would recommend them. My problem is with BenQ, this is the 5th monitor I've had to return due to dead/stuck pixels, and I'm tired of swapping monitors back and forth. The 241W is a great monitor, and I would love it if it weren't for the stuck pixel issue.
