My PC is almost 10 years old and I need to build a new one. I built my last one off the advice I was given here and it's worked great since day 1, so here I am again.

Approximate Purchase Date: Sometime this month

Budget Range:
$2,000 - $2,500 preferably after shipping

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, programming, internet browsing

Are you buying a monitor: No

Parts to Upgrade: All (may reuse SSD TB)

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: no preference

Location: San Antonio, TX, US

Parts Preferences: no preference

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments:
My current computer is pretty plain, so a window and RGB would be a nice change of pace but isn't required if I can better invest that money into performance. Currently playing: Rimworld, CK3, KSP2, Helldivers 2, Total War games, Hell Let Loose.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Computer is almost a decade old, newer games aren't running as smoothly. Games like Rimworld slow down drastically in late game.

Probably overspending for 1080p. With that budget you can get a top tier CPU and a very high end GPU with room left over.

You might want to consider a 1440p monitor.

I understand that it is a Decade old. But man please hold off a bit long with that. Huge performance uplift coming with RTX5090 release towards the end of this year. And as you plan to use the PC for a long time. The wait be absolutely worth it. And even at that point if you plan to use it beyond 5Yrs mark still stick to 1440p resolution instead of going for 4K. Yes I think RTX5090 be finally the card that can actually do 4K for over a good period of time. But still if want to last beyond 5yrs stick to 1440p.

I extremely highly recommend holding off the purchase for now. And please be adding more to the Total budget in this time you got so that you get absolute top end PC with no compromises at all.
