Alright, so I just did a complete reformat of my ssd, installed windows 7, updated all the drivers etc. For some reason my hard drive is at 123gb out of 250gb without installing anything else.

I got rid of the the "Windows.old" folder. Am I missing something?

Long time lurker, first time poster, so excuse me please if this is in the wrong area.

The other thing to watch out for is that Windows 7 automatically enables System Restore, and it often lets restore points take up to 50% of the space on the drive by default. This usually goes unnoticed until you install a ton of updates and programs, and suddenly find most of your free space gone. Go into the System Restore settings and turn down the max space usable for restore points to a sane value, like 10%.
Check in Disk Management, there might be some empty partition you have missed or just doesn't have a letter. Normally when you want to "Reformat disk" and do clean windows install, you delete all the partitions on that disk and let windows make own during installation.

No problem.
Sometimes all it takes is a visual, to see exactly what is going on.
