I am running the BFG nvidia 250 GTS OC. I am scoring around 3.5k on the 2.0 test on 3DMARK06 and 5.3K the 3.0 test. My friend is scoring 500 more on the 2.0 test, and scored the same on the 3.0 test. Why is his card scoring as much as mine? Shouldn't my card score atleast 1k more than a 9800GT?

My specs:

Nvidia 250 GTS OC
4GB of DDR2 Ram
Intel QuadCore 8300 @ 2.33GHZ
Asus PQL 5 PRO Motherboard

EVGA precision overclocking:

overclock your cpu a bit and youll pass his scores, but to be honest a gts 250 and 9800gt are basically the same card performance wise so you wont be doing to much better than him.

P.S. How do you get that tool bar for the icons on windows 7?? xD

the gts 250 is about 20% faster than the 9800gt.

Your friend has a faster processor (for gaming anyway, and benchmarking)
At 2.3ghz, your processor is not driving your video card anywhere close to it's potential. Ideally, you really want a processor running at least 2.8ghz for a gaming computer.
Your processor will be a little better for encoding and multi-tasking, but for raw gaming frames per second, the AMD processor at 3.1ghz is going to do better.
