Well, I can't think of why you would want this card, really. The Albetron Turbo models in 128Meg memory guise are excellent Nvidia products. The beef I have with ANY 256meg memory card is this;
1.0 No 4 pixel pipeline and 128 bit memory channel card will play directX 9 games well to keep once they become popular. They just don't have the fill rate.
2.0 Why worry about texture detail with low frame rates and pay as much, or near to, a better 128 meg memory card with a 8/256 pipeline/memory solution?
3.0 Nearly ZERO games will even use 128 let alone 256meg texture detail.
4.0 As soon as they do, a 5600 series card will be seriously oudated. And who want a video card that looks like a slide show at any detail level?
5.0 Most 256meg cards are SLOWER at lower resolution because of memory latency. Only when you get to 1200x1600 or higher do you see a 1-5% improvement at best. DO you play games at 1200 x 1600? Do you want FPS or looks only? I want BOTH and FPS is FIRST.
Marketing is designed to suck the money out of your pockets. Don't let them. Read the reviews and become an informed consumer. Buy an Albetron 5600 Turbo (great overclocking ability) 128 meg and be REAL happy if you use Nvidia, or any good 9600 series (Sapphire seems to rate well) 128meg ATI product.
Pass on the 256meg solutions. It's just silly with the current games, and the ability of a 4/128 cards ability to play them. A ATI9800pro with 256meg or FX5900ultra 256meg just MIGHT be good enough to keep through the coming directX9 games. But man, what a price!
