256 GB M.2 NVMe SSD is not detected in Asus prime Z390 M-Plus motherboard, why? I have disconnected the SATA SSD, but still the M.2 NVMe SSD is not detected. What should I do?

256 GB M.2 NVMe SSD
Make and model of your SSD?

Asus prime Z390 M-Plus
What BIOS version are you on for said motherboard? Which slot is the SSD populating on said motherboard?
I think, this is the M.2 NVMe SSD: https://www.transcend-info.com/product/internal-ssd/mte220s

Bios version:
SMBIOSBIOSVersion
3006

1TB SATA SSD is on port SATA1 or sata port 1.

I have tried connecting the 256 GB M.2 NVMe SSD to both M.2_1 and M.2_2 slot. Same problem.

Because it's being awkward.

I tried to install a 1TB Crucial P3 CT1000P3SSD8 M.2 NVMe in my Asus Prime X670-P WiFi board and it wasn't recognised. I removed the 1TB Crucial P3 and installed it in an old Gigabyte GA-Z97-D3H where it works perfectly.

I now have a 1TB Kingston SKC3000S1024G, a 1TB Samsung 980 and a 1TB Samsung 980 PRO with Heatsink (all M.2 NVMe) in the Prime X670-P.

You may have run foul of some incompatibility between your Asus Prime and the SSD. Try the drive in another computer. Try a different brand/part number in your PC. Maybe your SSD is dead?
