256 GB SSD, but only 108 GB usable

Hello Everyone,

I know generally, if you have a 256 GB SSD, you will see around 238 GB available. But recently I've gotten a dell inspiron 15, series 7000. It comes with a 256 GB SSD, but only 108 GB is available.

Isn't that a huge amount of un-allocated space?

Is there any way for me to increase the space i have available?

I'm not very tech savy, so the answer on some other forum threads are a bit complicated.

I will assume you run some kind of Windows, go to Run command and key in this: diskmgmt.msc it will show you disk structure.

Sorry to inform you but it's not 256GB disk but 128GB only.

That doesn't compute at all. There are no missing partitions in disk management.

Maybe its actually 256 but somehow the rest is hidden or something?

I downloaded SandDisk SSD dashboard and ran a report and the report states this regarding the SSD

Im not sure its a 128 gb SSD.

That appears to be a 128GB drive.
Get the actual serial number, and ask Sandisk.
