2560 x 1080 can i lower the resolution?

i currently have a widescreen monitor : http://www.lg.com/my/monitors/lg-29UM59A-P

i am using a 1050Ti. I know that 1050Ti works better on 1920x1080. Can i lower the resolution when gaming to get better fps from 2560x1080 ----> 1920x1080 ?

Yes, you can change the resolution in Nvidia Control panel.

Sure you can.
You'll probably also have to change desktop size and position settings in Nvidia control panel.

Probably but 1920x1080 would likely look pretty bad stretched out on a 2560x1080 monitor. There may be a way to use it at 1920x1080 with black borders on the vertical sides. Personally I would just run the games at 2560x1080, the 1050 ti should still perform decently at that resolution in most games.

It will look however you set it to look. You can choose whether you want stretching or black bars in the NVIDIA/AMD/Intel control panel, it's not random chance.
