I have a Windows 10 Pro 64 bit machine with a GeForce GTX570 graphics card and an LG ultrawide monitor connected with an HDMI cable that supports up to 4K monitors. I can't get the resolution to stay at 2560. It reverts to 1920x 1080. I believe this should work. Mostly I use the 1 monitor for video editing and pictures not gaming. Please tell me what I am missing.

Can you make sure your drivers are 100% up to date?

What is the exact model of your card? It is possible that it wasn't equipped with HDMI 1.4, but has 1.2 instead.
I can't find anything clearly stating 1.2 supports ultrawide resolutions.

Pretty sure it won't support them. My older (2013) Macbook Pro won't run an ultrawide.

However, my GTX 680 will. It is HDMI 1.4.

Hi, The card is Ge Force GTX5701280 MB: 1280 MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 HDMI- Displayport. Is that what you are asking? The LG monitor only uses HDMI. When I go into the NVidia Control Panel it gives the option of selecting 2560x1080 but on the resolution section of of NVidia Control panel that is found under PC heading and not under Ultra HD, HD and SD section.

Try changing the settings from the Windows control panel rather than NVidia.

I tried that. In advanced Display settings it lists 2560x1080 as recommended but I can't apply the change. It correctly shows the screen profile and if I select detect it shows a profile that looks like a 1920x1080. Could it be that the HDMI for my graphics card truly does not support the HDMI required for this ultra wide display? The Monitor requires HDMI 1.4. I still do not know if my graphics card supports 1.4 or 1.2.

I found out that my Graphics card only supports HDMI 1.3.

I now know my card only supports HDMI 1.3 so that is why my LG monitor can not be driven to the correct resolution.
