2560x1080 is it any good?

Hi there guys I am starting this thread to ask a general questions opinions welcome. I am thinking about purchasing a LG 29UM65 monitor for my pc and I wanted to know if 1) My graphics card can handle modern AAA games at this resolution and 2) Is this monitor a particularly good choice for both gaming and work with 3D modeling 3) And if it is not what might be a better monitor selection *Looking Preferably to an ultra wide monitor or something around 27" or greater

CPU: core i7-4790k (no overclock)

RAM: 16 gb kingston hyper x 1600mhz
GPU: EVGA GTX 780 6gb sc edition
