I have two LG 34UM67 monitors and am trying to hook them up to a windows xp machine. The monitors work fine at 1920x1080p, but the image looks weird when I switch the resolution to 2560x1080. For example, the letter w would look like v instead. Some texts are not displaying properly at this resolution. The monitor can accept two inputs simultaneously. I use the split mode with each section of the screen at 1280x1080, so the total resolution is 2560x1080. Everything looks fine using this method.

I have a Dell Precision 380 tower
GPU: MSI GeForce GT 730 N730k-1GD5LP/OC

Everything else is stock.

I tried the card with a windows 7 machine and the display looked perfect at 2560x1080 resolution. Can this be a windows xp problem, or is it a hardware problem? Has anyone got a 2560x1080 monitor worked on a windows xp machine?

Solution
Win xp was designed for 800x600 and 1280x768 monitors, probably some random graphics glitch caused by poor driver support for larger displays. No sense in bothering with it since XP has been dead for years now
