i believe my 2600k is dying after 6 years has been oc'd to 4.7 for almost the whole time ive owned it on a z77 saber tooth cooled with an h100i. now its freezing and crashing quite often. ive tried lowering the multiplier 4.1Ghz, 4.2Ghz and 4.3Ghz and voltage 1.1-1.2 in the bios. saving the setting going back and checking them but for some reason i cant get it to stop clocking up to 4.5Ghz i know i am probably missing something very simple if i could get some insight it would be very much appreciated

Solution
whit the time the procesor start to need more voltage to work whit the same clock. After 6 years you probably need to reduce that clock to 4.4ghz and dont reduce too much the voltage.
