I have a dell inspiron 15 7577 laptop, wanna upgrade the rams, according to the data on dell's site, my mobo supports only 2400 mhz i guess, can purchase 2x8 crucial 2666 mhz or 2x8 gskill 2400 mhz, unfortunately crucial dont have 2400mhz kits and im not familiar with the gskill brand so im not sure if its any good or not, so do 2666 mhz kits downclock and work fine on my mobo, should i choose to buy them? also whether its gskill or crucial, a mobo supports all kind of brands right? so there is not such a concept like it supports crucial but it doesnt support gskill?

If crucial says the sticks will work you should be good to go.

The sticks should just run at 2400 speed.
