Question 27" Curved vs 29" Ultrawide

So I am in the market for a new monitor, and I have been looking at ultrawide monitors for a long time now.

I have 2 options, a Samsung s27d590cs for around $140, or a LG 29WK600 for around $280. The LG is new, the Samsung monitor is second hand. I am a second year programming student so currently my mind is set on the ultrawide, but the price is a bit high.

Which would be the best?

I got the LG from Amazon and I'm happy with it. Check the prime deals over the next couple of days.....maybe it will go on sale
