I'm upgrading my brother's computer from a GTX 660, i3-4150, and 4 GB of RAM to a GTX 980, i5-4690k, and 8 GB of RAM and I'm looking for a great gaming 1440p monitor for that hardware to power. $400 is the budget for the monitor. 27 Inches or greater would be preferable, at least a 5ms response time is ideal, and I'd like it to be from a trusted brand such as ASUS, Acer, and BenQ or of similar status. Thanks in advance for whatever help you can give me!

Also, a used or refurbished monitor is fine as long as it's from a trusted seller and the condition is excellent.

You will be hard pressed to meet that $400 budget.
The Nixeus VUE at $450 should be good.

I have been pleased with the 30" 2560 x 1600 version

I would look into one of the QNIX perfect pixel monitors, the users seem very happy with them.
